Client Success Story: Finding the Perfect Crystal Lakes Cabin

Our clients were looking for a peaceful retreat where they could work part-time and enjoy nature. Their goal was a year-round cabin with access to fishing and outdoor activities. They also wanted a place where their two boys could spend time outdoors away from technology and enjoy fishing. After meeting for a buyer’s consultation in September, we identified their priorities: a move-in-ready property that offered comfort, scenic surroundings, and space for both work and relaxation all within their budget.

We began the search and toured several properties over a month. While some were within budget, none met the quality and charm they were seeking. One property that stood out was 528 Micmac dr., a beautifully remodeled cabin located up high in Crystal Lakes. Unfortunately, it was under contract. As we continued looking, the deal on 528 Micmac unexpectedly fell through in November. We quickly scheduled a showing for the next day. They loved the property, and we submitted an offer right away, which was accepted. After some haggling and working through inspection items we were able to close the sale in December at a final price of $460,000.

The property featured a double lot and was perched high with great views from its wrap-around deck, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. During the inspection, a few issues were uncovered that the buyers wanted resolved. Negotiations became challenging when the seller felt they had already priced the home fairly, and the buyers were unwilling to go forgo the repairs at the agreed to price. The two sides were $5,000 apart. To close the gap, I worked with the listing agent, and we both agreed to compromise and credit a little of our hard earned commissions back, allowing the sale to move forward.

The buyers are thrilled with their new cabin, where they can enjoy peaceful mornings, fishing, and a balance of work and relaxation. Their boys are excited to spend more time in nature and take advantage of the fishing opportunities. Helping them find and secure this home was a rewarding experience, and it highlights the importance of persistence and teamwork in real estate.
